Micah Pledges his Birthday

Well, it’s almost my birthday and I’ve almost crossed everything off my “before 30” bucket list, but there’s still one more thing I need to accomplish: giving back. That’s why, this year, I’m forgoing birthday gifts and asking that you please donate to an organization that I feel passionately about. Earthswell has been a part of my life since 2010, when I first participated in the their dance-a-thon fundraiser that helped raise over $50,000 toward building clean water access points and plumbing systems to rural schools across western Kenya. The work done during that project allowed for the building of a new primary school, and today hundreds of children who once didn’t have the opportunity are attending school.

The funds raised for my birthday will go directly toward helping to maintain the water systems put in place and ensure that these communities continue to have the access they need to clean, safe water. So please, donate what you can, and meet me out on the town on Saturday night -- first round’s on me!
